Smart Environment Sensor plus (SEnS+) is an operator-assist system (OAS) with pedestrian and object detection. This latest version includes truck control –SEnS+ controls the operation by applying regenerative braking to slow down the truck.
SEnS is available as an add-on kit that can be retrofitted for select Toyota forklift models as well as new models, but does not include the truck control feature.

The stereo camera, an exclusive forklift design, detects pedestrians by distinguishing from unspecified obstacles in the detection range.
First priority is people's safety and considers the influence on work efficiency/productivity. SEnS+ does not require carrying tags by workers and contributes to the safety of the work environment where unspecified pedestrians are entering and exiting the area of operation.
There are 3-levels notification range for the SEnS+ to notify the forklift operator of pedestrian and object detection. The notification signal varies with intensity and is controlled according to the detection target, traveling speed, and steering angle.
The operator is notified about obstacles behind the forklift before starting to move. If the operator attempts to reverse with an obstacle detected in the detection range, truck movement will be restricted for safe operation (Backward Movement Prevention).
The system can detect obstacles in a wide range with a horizontal detection angle of 130°, maximum detection distance is approximately 32ft/10m and width is approximately 5.5 m for both right and left sides.
The system uses traveling speed and direction to automatic adjustment of the notification range according to the detection target, traveling speed, and steering angle, maintain the efficiency of operation.
The system provides detection performance and durability to match the work environment by utilizing the advantage of experience as the NO.1 forklift manufacturer.
A dedicated bracket secures and protects the camera. IP67 water-proof performance supports outdoor use.
Installed to the position where the operator can catch the sound easily.
Installed at 4 positions of the truck so that operator can easily identify the warning.
